The first time I stepped foot in the City of Montréal, I was in love. With an amalgamation of modernity from North America and Old-World charm from Europe, Montréal is the place to be. Dubbed as Canada’s very own Europe, the cosmopolitan city makes you feel as if you have travelled thousands of miles and landed in Paris. Filled with vibrant colours, rich culture, amazing food, and friendly people, the city provides a great deal of places to eat, drink, and sightsee. On the basis thereof, I have decided to share my Insider’s Guide to Montréal. Continue reading “INSIDER’S GUIDE TO MONTRÉAL”
As some of you may know, I am a very big enthusiast for skincare. First and foremost, my skin is no force to be reckoned with. Given the fact that I have extremely sensitive skin, I have decided to refrain from purchasing products that do harm and have taken a natural route to help replenish it. Thus, for the past few months, especially during the month of November to February, I have spent my time reinventing my skincare routine and began purchasing all of my skincare products from LUSH. Continue reading “REINVENTING A LUSH SKINCARE ROUTINE”
It was the conversation that I had with my brother that motivated me to write this post. My brother, a fourteen-year-old average teenager, is notorious for taking long showers. Lasting approximately forty-five minutes to an hour, it was the constant banging on the bathroom door that triggered me to say enough is enough.
Imagine if getting a drink of water or simply taking a shower was not as simple as turning on your tap or shower faucet. Imagine going through your day without access to clean and safe water in your home for drinking, cooking, washing or bathing whenever Continue reading “WOMEN AND THE WATER CRISIS”
And then I realized, travelling is the best way to learn – Anonymous
Throughout my life I have been given the opportunity to travel on amazing trips filled with unique experiences that have had a lasting impact on my life. With every city or country I have visited, the venturesome experiences and the different perspectives I have gained has helped shape my desire to continue travelling. It gave me a platform to diversify my experiences; shaping my life as I discover myself, my purpose, my true desires and potentials while I venture out in a new place. I remember telling people that I was happy. Happy. A word to describe a feeling or showing of pleasure or contentment. Telling myself and others that I was happy when I wasn’t, was a betrayal to my soul. After two years, I couldn’t stomach the pain of telling people that I was happy anymore, thus, I decided to take some time for my soul and started my quest on feeling authentically happy.
For me, feeling authentically happy stems from accepting yourself and loving each and every layer of your mind, body, and soul. Accepting myself did not come easy – of course. Continue reading “FEELING AUTHENTICALLY HAPPY”
The following morning the group woke up around seven-in-the-morning, got ready, packed up, and headed down for breakfast at 7:30. Before breakfast, we were asked to bring our bags and backpacks up to the bus for the men to load. The owner that lived near the accommodations had dogs, so they were out and about roaming the area. As such, Rascal, the German Shepard, got a little too excited and started to jump around and nibbled on my arm. Unfortunately, I wore a white shirt that morning, so dirt got all over me.
Having only four hours of sleep during the night and getting dirt all over my shirt from Continue reading “KENYA | THE GREAT RIFT VALLEY”
Taking care of my skin has been very important to me as I live with eczema. I have always been self conscious about my skin especially the common areas where my eczema would occur. This includes my underarms, my arms, my knees, and my neck. Living with eczema is no fun and often times I try to hide it as much as I can. Although I have been prescribed medical creams for my skin, I will always live with eczema. With this in mind, I decided to share my daytime skin care routine.
Before I begin, I would like to place a disclaimer that I am not a dermatologist or any Continue reading “MY DAYTIME SKIN CARE ROUTINE”
I don’t know if it’s just me, but I love packing my carry-on! Whenever I travel, I love going out shopping to get all of my essentials in travel size. Yes, it’s the smallest things that make me happy and seeing all of my favourite products in miniature size makes packing even more exciting. Besides the stress of checking in, passing through security, and finding your gate, nothing is more stressful than not having the essentials you need to have a smooth trip. When I left for Kenya, I made sure I had everything on board with me, from travel-sized toothbrushes to all types of medication, you name it, I was prepared.
During our eight-hour layover in Amsterdam, some of the girls and I decided to walk around the airport to purchase food before boarding our flight. Walking around the airport made you feel like you were in a mall or a shopping centre. With the little cute shops and cafes, I did not feel like I was in an airport. Some of the girls decided to purchase food at McDonald’s, but instead of purchasing food there, I decided to purchase food at a little cute teacup cafe. After being served Chicken Rice, Potato Salad, and Chocolate Cake on the plane – in which I did not finish – I was starving.
For breakfast, I decided to order a croissant stuffed with organic cheese and farmer’s Continue reading “KENYA | THE SECOND FLIGHT AND FIRST NIGHT”
After postponing this for a month, I am going to finally share my experiences in Kenya-yay and the crowd goes wild! I still feel like the trip never happened yet and it’s coming up soon, but since I took the time to share my stories with my family and friends, I now have the motivation to share it on my blog! Yes, I’m still trying to adjust back home and even though it has been over a month, I still feel like I am in a different time zone. Without further ado, here is the beginning of my journey to Kenya.
May 7th, 2017, was the day I departed from Toronto International Airport to Kenya. Upon arrival at the airport, the group and I had to meet at 1:30 P.M to check in. Mind you, Continue reading “KENYA | THE FIRST FLIGHT”
