Growing up, my grandmother and my mother have always instilled the idea that less is more to live a content life. Last week, I was sitting down in a café with a good friend of mine discussing my current life predicament where the conversation of quality over quantity sparked up. Quality over quantity was a simple concept that was taught to me during my formative years and something that is currently pertinent in different aspects of my life. I tend to find it relevant in my relationships, my friendships, my academics, my work life, and even my blog. Continue reading “QUALITY FRIENDSHIPS”
As you come to an end, I begin to reflect on the beautiful twelve months you have given me. You have been a year filled with love, laughter, hope, awareness, and turmoil, and although this may be an understatement, you are the best year out of the twenty-one years of my life. I do not know nor do I want to know how 2018 will top this, but I do know that I will enter the New Year with an optimistic mindset and move on forward; celebrating all of my accomplishments and preparing myself for new challenges that will come my way.

From the moment we wake up to the time we come home from work, we are constantly on the go. Living in a fast-paced world, we can all agree that life is never on pause. Not even for a split millisecond. Whether it be going to work, school, or traveling afar, we tend to build up stress and tension into our lives and too often, bring it home with us. On a personal level, I myself, accumulate stress and tension into my body every day. Living in a constant state of urgency, I tend to forget to relax and enjoy life. Continue reading “SELF-CARE”
I am my own woman. I am a woman of integrity. I am loving. I am strong. I am not afraid anymore. I will spread hope to others. I will be relentless in my beliefs and morals. I will always put my family first. I will never compromise. I will change the world. And I will be the leading lady of my own life.
At this point in my life, I’ve learned that no matter how kind we are or how pure our intentions may be, we often find ourselves in a place we do not want to be. Be it the trial that inflicts us or the wounds that remind us of the things we find so hard to let go of, we are constantly in battle with ourselves. We often feel as if we are broken and our story has ended; allowing the wounds to define who we are and run the course of our lives. It Continue reading “A BEAUTIFUL CROOKED PATHWAY”
Just recently I have felt genuinely happy and comfortable in my skin. While on a quest to find who I am, it was not until I travelled to Kenya where I started to learn more about myself. Deeply rooted in my thoughts, I started to become aware of who I am as a person.
I remember telling people that I was happy. Happy. A word to describe a feeling or showing of pleasure or contentment. Telling myself and others that I was happy when I wasn’t, was a betrayal to my soul. After two years, I couldn’t stomach the pain of telling people that I was happy anymore, thus, I decided to take some time for my soul and started my quest on being authentically happy.

The lessons that I have learned have really helped shape me into the person I am today. Thus, I have decided to compile a list of lessons that have resonated with me throughout the years.
- Learn to trust in God.
- Take charge of your life but expect the unexpected.
- Treat others the way you want to be treated.
- Always know that love is stronger than hate. Love is a universal language.
- There are no mistakes, only lessons that need to be mastered. Continue reading “THE BEST LESSONS I HAVE LEARNED”
Before I begin, I just wanted to tell you that I miss you. I truly and deeply miss you. I miss the blogging world and sharing my thoughts and travels. I miss that rush that goes through my veins as I type word after word. I miss the feeling of simply pressing the publish button and posting a new blog post for you.
In this post, I wanted to discuss something personal. No, it is nothing too extreme, however, it is one of the reasons why I have not been blogging. Ever since the winter semester began, I felt as if I wasn’t connected to myself. I felt like I was distancing and taking myself away from me which made it difficult to comprehend the things that were Continue reading “HELLO AGAIN”
Travelling is what I like to call taking the scenic route through life. Filled with pleasant views, nice sceneries, and new experiences, it’s the path many of us should always take. I believe the purpose of life is more than just sitting at our nine to five job. From the rut of our profoundly busy life, travelling fills that empty void. A void that needs a little more than what we do on a daily basis.
Exploring new places, meeting new people, and trying new food is the scenic route through life. If you have ever driven through a scenic highway, you become so drawn to the beautiful scenery that you begin to reflect on how beautiful the world is. Parallel to Continue reading “TAKING THE SCENIC ROUTE THROUGH LIFE”

Are you Hawaiian? Mexican? Puerto Rican? Filipino? Indian? African? Where are you from? Where are your parents from? Did they have an interracial marriage? Are you mix?— These are the kind of questions I’ve been asked by reason of my darker skin complexion. Explaining to people that I am, in fact, Cambodian-Siamese [Thai], surprises them as if they just found out something so fascinating. Yes, I do have a darker hue of skin colour than a stereotypical Asian, but beneath it all, I am still a hundred percent Asian—Southeast Asian to be exact. In this post, I will be writing all about my nationality and bring you into the life of a Cambodian-Thai. Continue reading “BENEATH THE SKIN: THE LIFE OF A CAMBODIAN THAI”
