The first time I stepped foot in the City of Montréal, I was in love. With an amalgamation of modernity from North America and Old-World charm from Europe, Montréal is the place to be. Dubbed as Canada’s very own Europe, the cosmopolitan city makes you feel as if you have travelled thousands of miles and landed in Paris. Filled with vibrant colours, rich culture, amazing food, and friendly people, the city provides a great deal of places to eat, drink, and sightsee. On the basis thereof, I have decided to share my Insider’s Guide to Montréal. Continue reading “INSIDER’S GUIDE TO MONTRÉAL”
And then I realized, travelling is the best way to learn – Anonymous
Throughout my life I have been given the opportunity to travel on amazing trips filled with unique experiences that have had a lasting impact on my life. With every city or country I have visited, the venturesome experiences and the different perspectives I have gained has helped shape my desire to continue travelling. It gave me a platform to diversify my experiences; shaping my life as I discover myself, my purpose, my true desires and potentials while I venture out in a new place. The following morning the group woke up around seven-in-the-morning, got ready, packed up, and headed down for breakfast at 7:30. Before breakfast, we were asked to bring our bags and backpacks up to the bus for the men to load. The owner that lived near the accommodations had dogs, so they were out and about roaming the area. As such, Rascal, the German Shepard, got a little too excited and started to jump around and nibbled on my arm. Unfortunately, I wore a white shirt that morning, so dirt got all over me.
Having only four hours of sleep during the night and getting dirt all over my shirt from Continue reading “KENYA | THE GREAT RIFT VALLEY”
I don’t know if it’s just me, but I love packing my carry-on! Whenever I travel, I love going out shopping to get all of my essentials in travel size. Yes, it’s the smallest things that make me happy and seeing all of my favourite products in miniature size makes packing even more exciting. Besides the stress of checking in, passing through security, and finding your gate, nothing is more stressful than not having the essentials you need to have a smooth trip. When I left for Kenya, I made sure I had everything on board with me, from travel-sized toothbrushes to all types of medication, you name it, I was prepared.
During our eight-hour layover in Amsterdam, some of the girls and I decided to walk around the airport to purchase food before boarding our flight. Walking around the airport made you feel like you were in a mall or a shopping centre. With the little cute shops and cafes, I did not feel like I was in an airport. Some of the girls decided to purchase food at McDonald’s, but instead of purchasing food there, I decided to purchase food at a little cute teacup cafe. After being served Chicken Rice, Potato Salad, and Chocolate Cake on the plane – in which I did not finish – I was starving.
For breakfast, I decided to order a croissant stuffed with organic cheese and farmer’s Continue reading “KENYA | THE SECOND FLIGHT AND FIRST NIGHT”
After postponing this for a month, I am going to finally share my experiences in Kenya-yay and the crowd goes wild! I still feel like the trip never happened yet and it’s coming up soon, but since I took the time to share my stories with my family and friends, I now have the motivation to share it on my blog! Yes, I’m still trying to adjust back home and even though it has been over a month, I still feel like I am in a different time zone. Without further ado, here is the beginning of my journey to Kenya.
May 7th, 2017, was the day I departed from Toronto International Airport to Kenya. Upon arrival at the airport, the group and I had to meet at 1:30 P.M to check in. Mind you, Continue reading “KENYA | THE FIRST FLIGHT”
Saturday, January 21, 2017 will be a day I will never forget. A day that will forever live in my memory and define me as the woman I am today. On the morning of January 21, 2017, marchers gathered in Downtown Chicago at East Jackson Boulevard and South Lake Shore Drive, with a mission to make their voices heard and to support one another in protecting and furthering women’s rights and civil liberties.
That morning, I had the opportunity to march with more than 250,000 beautiful individuals of different colours, backgrounds, religious faiths, and politics. Individuals Continue reading “WOMEN’S MARCH ON CHICAGO”
Hey loves! I know it has been a while since I’ve posted something and yes, there are no more excuses for my absence, but I am back with new and exciting posts! Before I begin, I want to welcome all of my wonderful followers and readers to the New Year! I also want to give a huge thank-you to all of you for making my blogging experience an amazing one because without you guys, I would not have gone any further in the blogging world, so thank-you, thank-you, thank-you! In this post, I wanted to share a recap of my Chicago trip I recently took this past weekend!
Last Friday, my friend and I decided to take a mini weekend trip to Chicago, Illinois. Continue reading “CHICAGO, ILLINOIS PART ONE”
Day three of our London adventure, we were given an option to visit different places the city had to offer. The options included going to Abbey Road and 221B Baker Street, boarding the Belfast warship, or visiting Westminster Abbey and the scale heights of the Tower Bridge. My friend and I jumped on board to visit Westminster Abbey and the Tower Bridge.
After breakfast, the group and I headed for the Underground to venture off into the city. After our departure from Hatton Cross, it took us a total of eighteen stops to get to our Continue reading “EXPLORING LONDON, ENGLAND”
Sleep during the night was quite impossible. Being in such a beautiful town, I could not wait to explore Tobermory even more. The intense feeling of wanting to be out there exploring, made me feel restless during the night. I was craving for more adventures thus could not wait to begin the next day.
We woke up around four-in-the-morning, as per usual, got ready, and began our drive into Wiarton, once again. As the closest Tim Horton’s was located in the small town, we decided to grab our breakfast on-the-go before making our way up to Cyprus Lake. (Yes, us Canadians need our Timmie’s in the morning!) Since we were not able to enter the Continue reading “TOBERMORY, ONTARIO PART TWO”
