The following morning the group woke up around seven-in-the-morning, got ready, packed up, and headed down for breakfast at 7:30. Before breakfast, we were asked to bring our bags and backpacks up to the bus for the men to load. The owner that lived near the accommodations had dogs, so they were out and about roaming the area. As such, Rascal, the German Shepard, got a little too excited and started to jump around and nibbled on my arm. Unfortunately, I wore a white shirt that morning, so dirt got all over me.
Okay, so I decided to do something a little different than just simply blogging. Here is just a little travel montage of my recent trip to Kenya, so sit back, relax, and enjoy this three minute video of my adventure. To be completely honest, I was little nervous on posting this on YouTube but I realized it’s about time I stepped out of my comfort zone. On another note, I never really knew how hard it was to edit videos until I created this but hopefully I polish my skills before creating more content. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I love packing my carry-on! Whenever I travel, I love going out shopping to get all of my essentials in travel size! Yes, it’s the smallest things that make me happy and seeing all of my favourite products in miniature size makes packing even more exciting. Besides the stress of checking in, passing through security, and finding your gate, nothing is more stressful than not having the essentials you need to have a smooth trip. When I left for Kenya, I made sure I had everything on board with me, from travel-sized toothbrushes to all types of medication, you name it, I was prepared.
During our eight-hour layover in Amsterdam, some of the girls and I decided to walk around the airport to purchase food before boarding our flight. Walking around the airport made you feel like you were in a mall or a shopping centre. With the little cute shops and cafes, I did not feel like I was in an airport. Some of the girls decided to purchase food at McDonald’s, but instead of purchasing food there, I decided to purchase food at a little cute teacup cafe. After being served Chicken Rice, Potato Salad, and Chocolate Cake on the plane – in which I did not finish – I was starving. Continue reading “KENYA | THE SECOND FLIGHT AND FIRST NIGHT”
After postponing this for a month, I am going to finally share my experiences in Kenya-yay and the crowd goes wild! I still feel like the trip never happened yet and it’s coming up soon, but since I took the time to share my stories with my family and friends, I now have the motivation to share it on my blog! Yes, I’m still trying to adjust back home and even though it has been over a month, I still feel like I am in a different time zone. Without further ado, here is the beginning of my journey to Kenya.
Saturday, January 21, 2017 will be a day I will never forget. A day that will forever live in my memory and define me as the woman I am today. On the morning of January 21, 2017, marchers gathered in Downtown Chicago at East Jackson Boulevard and South Lake Shore Drive, with a mission to make their voices heard and to support one another in protecting and furthering women’s rights and civil liberties. Hey loves! I know it has been a while since I’ve posted something and yes, there are no more excuses for my absence, but I am back with new and exciting posts! Before I begin, I want to welcome all of my wonderful followers and readers to the New Year! I also want to give a huge thank-you to all of you for making my blogging experience an amazing one because without you guys, I would not have gone any further in the blogging world, so thank-you, thank-you, thank-you! In this post, I wanted to share a recap of my Chicago trip I recently took this past weekend! Continue reading “CHICAGO, ILLINOIS PART ONE”
Day three of our London adventure, we were given an option to visit different places the city had to offer. The options included going to Abbey Road and 221B Baker Street, boarding the Belfast warship, or visiting Westminster Abbey and the scale heights of the Tower Bridge. My friend and I jumped on board to visit Westminster Abbey and the Tower Bridge. Continue reading “EXPLORING LONDON, ENGLAND”
Sleep during the night was quite impossible. Being in such a beautiful town, I could not wait to explore Tobermory even more. The intense feeling of wanting to be out there exploring, made me feel restless during the night. I was craving for more adventures thus could not wait to begin the next day.
We woke up around four-in-the-morning, as per usual, got ready, and began our drive into Wiarton, once again. As the closest Tim Horton’s was located in the small town, we decided to grab our breakfast on-the-go before making our way up to Cyprus Lake. (Yes, us Canadians need our Timmie’s in the morning!) Since we were not able to enter the park the previous day, we decided to leave earlier to get a parking spot before it filled up. Continue reading “TOBERMORY, ONTARIO PART TWO”
Before I begin my recap, I want to apologize for the absence on my blog. I try my best to update as much as I can but with work and school coming up, I feel like my days are getting shorter and school is approaching faster than I expected. With that, I have a little exciting news to share with all of you darling readers! First, I surpassed my 50 followers milestone on WordPress which does not seem like a big deal, I know, but having started this blog last year with the mindset that I was going to fail as a blogger, this is a tiny celebratory moment for me! Second, I was offered a Contributing Position which I’m a little nervous and excited about, but I will go into more details in a separate post. Anyhow, since my work schedule is a little more flexible now, I finally have time to update my blog! Yay! So without further ado, here is my recap on Tobermory, Ontario.
