Just recently I have felt genuinely happy and comfortable in my skin. While on a quest to find who I am, it was not until I travelled to Kenya where I started to learn more about myself. Deeply rooted in my thoughts, I started to become aware of who I am as a person.
I remember telling people that I was happy. Happy. A word to describe a feeling or showing of pleasure or contentment. Telling myself and others that I was happy when I wasn’t, was a betrayal to my soul. After two years, I couldn’t stomach the pain of telling people that I was happy anymore, thus, I decided to take some time for my soul and started my quest on being authentically happy.

The following morning the group woke up around seven-in-the-morning, got ready, packed up, and headed down for breakfast at 7:30. Before breakfast, we were asked to bring our bags and backpacks up to the bus for the men to load. The owner that lived near the accommodations had dogs, so they were out and about roaming the area. As such, Rascal, the German Shepard, got a little too excited and started to jump around and nibbled on my arm. Unfortunately, I wore a white shirt that morning, so dirt got all over me.

Okay, so I decided to do something a little different than just simply blogging. Here is just a little travel montage of my recent trip to Kenya, so sit back, relax, and enjoy this three minute video of my adventure. To be completely honest, I was little nervous on posting this on YouTube but I realized it’s about time I stepped out of my comfort zone. On another note, I never really knew how hard it was to edit videos until I created this but hopefully I polish my skills before creating more content. The lessons that I have learned have really helped shape me into the person I am today. Thus, I have decided to compile a list of lessons that have resonated with me throughout the years. Continue reading “THE BEST LESSONS I HAVE LEARNED”
Taking care of my skin has been very important to me as I live with eczema. I have always been self-conscious about my skin especially the common areas where my eczema would occur, such as my underarms, my arms, my knees, and my neck. Living with eczema is no fun and often times I try to hide it as much as I can. Although I have been prescribed medical creams for my skin, I will always live with eczema, however, taking care of my skin as helped. As such, I decided to share with you my daytime skin care routine.

During our eight-hour layover in Amsterdam, some of the girls and I decided to walk around the airport to purchase food before boarding our flight. Walking around the airport made you feel like you were in a mall or a shopping centre. With the little cute shops and cafes, I did not feel like I was in an airport. Some of the girls decided to purchase food at McDonald’s, but instead of purchasing food there, I decided to purchase food at a little cute teacup cafe. After being served Chicken Rice, Potato Salad, and Chocolate Cake on the plane – in which I did not finish – I was starving. Continue reading “KENYA | THE SECOND FLIGHT AND FIRST NIGHT”
After postponing this for a month, I am going to finally share my experiences in Kenya-yay and the crowd goes wild! I still feel like the trip never happened yet and it’s coming up soon, but since I took the time to share my stories with my family and friends, I now have the motivation to share it on my blog! Yes, I’m still trying to adjust back home and even though it has been over a month, I still feel like I am in a different time zone. Without further ado, here is the beginning of my journey to Kenya.

Hello again. If there is one thing I must do right now, it is to apologize. I deeply apologize for the lack of posts for the past months and no, I’m not here to make up any more excuses, however, from the bottom of my heart, I am sorry.

Saturday, January 21, 2017 will be a day I will never forget. A day that will forever live in my memory and define me as the woman I am today. On the morning of January 21, 2017, marchers gathered in Downtown Chicago at East Jackson Boulevard and South Lake Shore Drive, with a mission to make their voices heard and to support one another in protecting and furthering women’s rights and civil liberties.
