The first time I stepped foot in the City of Montréal, I was in love. With an amalgamation of modernity from North America and Old-World charm from Europe, Montréal is the place to be. Dubbed as Canada’s very own Europe, the cosmopolitan city makes you feel as if you have travelled thousands of miles and landed in Paris. Filled with vibrant colours, rich culture, amazing food, and friendly people, the city provides a great deal of places to eat, drink, and sightsee. On the basis thereof, I have decided to share my Insider’s Guide to Montréal.

  • L’Avenue — The best brunch place ever. Unfortunately, the restaurant does not take any reservations so I highly recommend getting there as soon as you can. Trust me, there will be a long line of people and up to an hour-and-half wait for tables to clear out.

Lastly, getting around Montréal is particularly easy. Many of the places that I have listed are situated around the Downtown Core. With this in mind, the Metro is by far the best mode of transportation when you are in the city. For those who are travelling over the weekend, I highly recommend purchasing the weekend Metro pass to save you money. Unlike any subways I have taken, the Metro is by far my favourite.

Additionally, I recommend planning your trip strategically. Many of the places are at a walkable distance from one another, however, if you plan to be in one part of the city and another part at a certain time, Uber is an alternative option.
