As some of you may know, I am a very big enthusiast for skincare. First and foremost, my skin is no force to be reckoned with. Given the fact that I have extremely sensitive skin, I have decided to refrain from purchasing products that do harm and have taken a natural route to help replenish it. Thus, for the past few months, especially during the month of November to February, I have spent my time reinventing my skincare routine and began purchasing all of my skincare products from LUSH.
Before I give you a run down about the latest and greatest for my skin, I would like to give a huge shoutout to LUSH Canada for their amazing products that have helped me transition from the chemically-induced products that have harmed my skin. 9 to 5 Cleansing Lotion: The 9 to 5 cleansing lotion is the best cleanser I have ever used in my life! Made with almond oil, dove orchids, and everlasting flower, this gentle cleanser helps remove leftover makeup, dirt, and grime after a long day at school and work. Just like the name of the cleanser, although 9 to 5 is quite the way to make a living, it could take a toll on your skin and leave you worn out. Unlike any cleaner that I have used in the past, this cleanser is lotion-based and does not dry out your skin. As such, I like to use this at night, right before I head to bed.
How to use: Take a quarter-sized amount and apply to the entire face, including the eye area, with gentle, upward, circular motions. Remove with a warm, damp face cloth or cotton pad.
Let the Good Times Roll: Let me begin by telling you that this cleanser smells amazing! Made with maize flour, polenta, and popcorn topping, the ingredients make this fresh facial cleanser more like food than skincare. As the featured ingredient is corn oil, this cleanser gives you a very soft, moisturizing scrub, leaving your skin bright, clean and smooth. Not only is it for your face, the cleanser is gentle enough to use on your entire body with a dash of cinnamon powder to warm up your skin. I use this ever morning in the shower.
How to use: Take a small amount in your hand, add a little water and mix into a paste. Massage into skin to gently cleanse, then rinse clean. Use all over your body for soft skin everywhere!
Roma Water: After cleansing my face, I like to spritz the Eau Roma Water right away. Made with only two active ingredients – rose water and lavender – this toner helps calm, sooth, moisturize, and balance my skin! As such, Rose water cools irritations and keeps redness at bay, while lavender helps to balance out the skin’s oils, leaving it feeling soft and supple. Eau Roma is simple toner that I live by every day.
How to use: Spritz onto clean skin and remove excess with a cotton pad.
Cosmetic Lad: With a calming blend of aloe vera gel, lavender honey water, and chamomile, this rich soothing moisturizer helps ease irritations and redness for my skin. After coming home from Kenya, I suffered the consequences of not wearing enough sunscreen on my face, thus, developed a sunburn on my cheeks. Once I was introduced to this moisturizer, I never looked back. The cold pressed organic almond oil and organic cocoa butter restore moisture and quickly absorb so you can get on with your day. This one’s especially effective at soothing post-shave skin!
How to use: Apply a dab onto a clean face for smooth, silky skin.
How to use: After cleansing and toning your face, put a dab on your fingertip and pat gently onto clean, slightly damp skin. A little bit goes a long way. Re-apply as often as needed.
