I don’t know if it’s just me, but I love packing my carry-on! Whenever I travel, I love going out shopping to get all of my essentials in travel size. Yes, it’s the smallest things that make me happy and seeing all of my favourite products in miniature size makes packing even more exciting. Besides the stress of checking in, passing through security, and finding your gate, nothing is more stressful than not having the essentials you need to have a smooth trip. When I left for Kenya, I made sure I had everything on board with me, from travel-sized toothbrushes to all types of medication, you name it, I was prepared.

I recently received a few questions about what I pack in my carry-on so I decided to share with you what I pack and my favourite essentials. Before I begin, I recently created a Facebook Page, BlogLovin, and Polyvore, so feel free to follow me on those platforms – all links will be listed below!

Without further ado, here is my list of carry-on travel essentials.

If you are the type that loves to be prepared in any emergency like myself, I like to pack extra clothing in my carry-on. I normally do this all the time, just in case my luggage gets lost along the way.

Packing List

Sweater, t-shirt, pants, extra bra, extra underwear, scarf.

Protecting and tagging your belongings are extremely important when travelling. I highly recommend purchasing a document holder in order to keep your boarding pass, passport, money, and other important travel documents on you. Yes, they may not be as fashionable, but it is better to be safe than sorry. On another note, you could purchase those wallets that hold everything including your phone.

Packing List

Passport, boarding pass, money, passport holder, document holder, credit cards, identification cards.

If you are like me and do not enjoy long flights, I always bring some sort of entertainment. Thus, I like to make sure I have something to do while I’m on the plane. Besides watching movies, I like to listen to my music, as well as write in my journal or read a book.

Packing List

Phone, iPad, earphones, journal, pen, book.

When it comes to packing my beauty bag, I have to be mindful that the CATSA requires containers of liquids, non-solid food and personal items 100 ml/100 g (3.4 oz) or less. If you are flying, they require that all containers must fit in one clear, resealable plastic bag – no more than 1L in capacity. I found this extremely difficult before, but since my products are now available in travel size, I have no problem.

Packing List

Tylenol, Gravol, Prescription medications, Evian Spray Water, Aveeno lotion, hand sanitizer, travel-sized toothbrush, wipes, makeup brushes, concealer, powder, mascara.

Travel pillow, earplugs, sleeping masks, sunglasses.

  1. Great list! I really appreciate the extra clothes part. There’s been plenty of times when a connecting flight has gotten delayed or canceled and you need to spend a night at a hotel without your bag so having extra clothes in a carry on is so smart!
